Grandma's 80th Birthday

Yesterday, we as a family gathered to celebrate Grandma Benners 80th Birthday, which was Friday August 14th. I am very blessed to have both Grandmas and one Grandpa living. One of the things that I remember most about Grandma Benner is that she taught me the 23rd Psalm before I went to school. That is just one of the many things that I appreciate about her.
Happy Birthday Grandma! I Love You!~

My Cousins Wedding

I had the honor of being Matron of Honor for my cousin, Mandy Benner--- now Mrs. Lamar Hege.

A beautiful couple.

Speaking of John Deere

Earlier this Spring, my sister in-law had a dream of a picnic pavillion in the woods near their house. That became a reality. We had a picnic there on July 5th.
As you can see, it is also a great place to relax.
You can't miss the John Deere outhouse.

Here is what is saw while returning to camp on Saturday evening. How neat! They were even in the John Deere lot at Lost Creek Implement, right next to the camp.

Bridal Shower

This past weekend, I along with the other bridesmaids for my cousins wedding, hosted a shower for Mandy at Ard's Farm Market. We decided that would be a very appropriate place since she is marrying a farmer.

Camper Damage

The first weekend of Oakland Mills Camp, a heavy thunderstorm came through on Saturday evening during the service. This is what we found when we went to our trailer after service. We did have a very good camp anyway! It was only the first time we used the awning.

Here is the drywall project that we done for the Christian School at Harrisonville. Many thanks to Steve and Tracy Bonebrake for the use of the travel trailer. It was our home for two weeks.
Thanks also to Rev. and Mrs. Toby Melott and congregation for the great fellowship. We really enjoyed ourselves.

We put a new shingle roof on the Lockes Banks Evangelical Methodist Church. Here the shingles are being delivered to Bill on the roof. Unfortunately, there are no pictures of me on the roof.

Catching Up

This was a familiar scene every night while working in Burnt Cabins at my cousins future home. The air mattress was a great improvement from our first weekend there, sleeping on just a blanket.

Welcome to the boring blog!

Sorry it has been so long. Bill and I are working away a lot this summer. We are spending the whole week away from home and on the job site. My cousin, who will be getting married in August, they are fixing up an old farmhouse. Bill and I are doing the drywall. It is near Maryland. In fact, you can see a small part of the PA Turnpike from the house where they will be living. We also done a 8-12 pitch church roof in the New Lancaster Valley/Reedsville area two weeks ago. Yes, I was on the roof. Hanging by a harness.

Speaking of boring, my Dad was to the cancer doctor this past week for a check up. The doctor reported his most recent test results as "boring", but followed by saying, boring is good! Hallelujah!!!!!!!

Update on my Dad

This week has been real exciting for our family. This Tuesday, my Dad returned to work after 10 months of being off while battling cancer. The doctors are amazed and we are praising the Lord. He has been released from the doctor to return to work with no restrictions. He along with the rest of us is very happy. Words just cannot express how we feel. All the glory and all the praise belongs to Jesus.
Thank you to everyone who prayed.

Guitar Lessons

As if I wasn't busy enough already, I have decided to take guitar lessons. I have had a guitar for several years and played around with it some, but nothing much.

I learned about a gentlemen in our area that gave lessons, so I decided to give it a try. It seems to be going well.

Moms Lighthouse

This was our Christmas project this year. Bill got the idea that we should make a lighthouse for my Mom for Christmas. Here is how it turned out.

It is approx. 6 feet tall.
